At Urban K9, our training is based on a balanced approach. We believe dogs learn best through clear communication - rewarding the behaviours we want while fairly correcting the behaviours that aren’t allowed.

This approach helps dogs truly understand what is expected of them, rather than simply managing behaviour with food or avoiding problems. The goal is to create reliable, confident dogs that can succeed in real-life situations.

Good training isn’t just about obedience. It’s about building clarity, structure, and trust between dogs and their owners.

Hey, I'm Nikola!

Urban K9 is run by Nikola, a trainer passionate about helping dogs and their owners build stronger relationships through clear and practical training.

Nikola focuses on real-world results - dogs that can walk calmly in public, listen around distractions, and confidently navigate everyday life. The goal isn’t perfection in a controlled environment, but reliable behaviour in the real world.

Every dog is different, and training is always adapted to the individual dog and owner.

The URBANK9 mission

Our mission is simple: give as many dogs as possible the biggest world they can safely experience.

Too many dogs live restricted lives because of behaviour problems or lack of training. Dogs are kept away from parks, people, other dogs, and everyday activities because they haven’t been taught how to handle those situations.

We believe training should do the opposite.

When dogs understand boundaries and expectations, they earn more freedom, more experiences, and a fuller life. Dogs deserve the chance to explore, work, and simply be dogs again.
