Build a dog that stays engaged, attentive, and working with you every step of the walk. This class is designed to develop a focused heel with strong engagement and reliable attention around distractions.
Program Length: 6 weeks
Class Size: up to 3 dogs
Location: 149 Browns Rd, Boneo 3939
Price: $197

In this class you and your dog will work on:
Building strong engagement and focus on the handler
Teaching a clear and consistent heel position
Teaching a dog to come into heel position from anywhere
Maintaining attention while moving and turning
Improving communication and timing
Over the 6 weeks we progressively build the skills needed for a reliable, focused heel. Each class introduces a new concept while reinforcing the previous week’s work, allowing you and your dog to develop the behaviour step-by-step.
We start by explaining what a correct focus heel actually looks like and why engagement is the foundation of the behaviour. You’ll learn how to build your dog’s desire to work with you and start developing attention on the handler.
This week focuses on helping your dog become aware of their rear end so they can move their body correctly in heel position. We introduce the first steps of luring the heel position and shaping the correct alignment beside you.
You’ll teach your dog how to come cleanly into heel position and begin working through basic movement patterns. We introduce about turns to help your dog learn to stay aligned with you as direction changes.
This class focuses on stability and clarity in the heel position while stationary. Your dog learns to hold the correct position with attention and engagement before movement is added.
Now that the behaviour is established, we begin reducing the reliance on the lure. You’ll learn how to transition toward cleaner, more precise heeling while keeping your dog motivated and focused.
In the final week we remove the lure completely and refine the behaviour. We address common issues, improve consistency, and help you maintain a clear, reliable focused heel going forward.
If you attend all 6 classes, follow the training instructions, and practice the exercises between sessions, but still don’t see progress with your dog’s focus heeling, we’ll refund your program.

Give your dog the skills to walk with focus, engagement, and purpose.
Spots are limited to keep the class small and effective.
